About the NSF Grants Conference
The NSF Grants Conference is designed to give new faculty, researchers, and administrators key insights into a wide range of current issues at NSF. NSF staff will provide up-to-date information about policies and procedures, specific funding opportunities, and answer attendee questions.
Why You Should Attend
The NSF Grants Conference is a must-attend for new faculty, researchers, and administrators.
Attendees will:
- Learn about new NSF programs and initiatives
- Understand how to write a successful proposal
- Learn about NSF’s Merit Review Process and conflict of interest policies
- Participate in NSF directorate sessions
- Understand award management policies and procedures
Attendees are encouraged to review the NSF Proposal and Award Policies and Procedures Guide (PAPPG). Recordings from the Spring 2024 NSF Grants Conference are available in the Resource Center.
Technical Tips
This year’s virtual programs will be hosted on Zoom Events. We encourage you to review the system requirements below prior to joining a virtual program.
Pre-requisites to Access to Zoom Events
Prospective attendees are encouraged to update their Zoom desktop client/mobile application to the latest version.
- Basic, Pro, Business, Enterprise, or Education account is encouraged
- Zoom desktop client for Windows, macOS, or Linux: Global minimum version or higher
- Zoom mobile app for Android or iOS: Global minimum version or higher
- Desktop web browser:
- Chromium Edge: 80 or higher
- Google Chrome: 53.0.2785 or higher
- Safari: 10.0.602.1.50 or higher
- Firefox: 76 or higher
- Internet Explorer: 10 or higher
- Operating system: Windows 9+, macOS X 10.9+, or Ubuntu 12.04+
- Zoom’s Bandwidth Requirements are:
- 2.0 Mbps up and down for single screen
- 2.0 Mbps up, 4.0 Mbps down for dual screen
- For audio VoIP: 60-80kbps

Other things to consider
- It can help to close other tabs, browsers and programs while streaming the live conference. It also may help to hardwire your Internet connection instead of using a wireless network connection.
- If you are having trouble hearing the webinar audio, check the volume on your computer and on your Zoom video player.
- If your computer screen freezes, please refresh your browser.
